Systems Engineers at OpenX take care of the infrastructure needed to smoothly develop and efficiently run the world’s most popular open-source ad server and associated software systems. To this end they work with Product, Quality Assurance, Development and Client Services teams located world-wide to develop and maintain robust and scalable solutions able to process thousands of requests per second.

In this role you will:

• plan deployment of systems and evaluate and choose appropriate technologies
• deploy and maintain databases and linux instances
• create tools to automate repetitive processes
• analyze, monitor and fine-tune performance

• troubleshoot and solve production issues

Desirable skills:

• from three to six years experience with UNIX systems administration
• solid scripting skills in Shell, PHP, Perl, Ruby or Python
• proven technical troubleshooting and performance tuning experience
• experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment
• ability to handle periodic on-call duty as well as out-of-band requests
• fluent written communication and unusual verbal agility are strong assets
• SQL experience a requirement, MySQL a plus
• experience leading short projects involving outside teams is a plus

• a BS degree or equivalent is a strong plus
